| Park Avenue Dance provides instruction in dance for all ages 3-103. We teach in a positive, constructive, and non-competitive atmosphere with appropriate movement for young children through adults. Styles of dance such as tap and modern for children begin at the developmentally appropriate age of 8 years. We offer creative dance for ages 3-7 years providing a foundation for all of the styles of dance.

| DANCE
CREATIONS I (ages 3-4):
An introduction to the basic elements of dance. Using movement
concepts such as level, directions, time, shape and rhythm, teachers
instruct young children in becoming aware of and exploring their own
movement and developing skills that prepare them for dance.
The class includes
a warm-up of stretching and strengthening muscles, developing
locomotor and non-locomotor skills, exploring concepts and dancing a
story. |

| DANCE
CREATIONS II (ages 4-5): A
progression of the basic elements and concepts of dance. The class consists
of a warm-up, continued skill development , introduction to dance technique
and combined steps, improvisation problems and dramatic dance.

| DANCE
CREATIONS III (ages 5-7): Foundation
of Modern Dance technique and continued creative work.
The class consists of a modern dance warm-up, technique, introduction
to barre work, combination development, improvisation and exploration
of dance concepts, and creating dances. |

CHILDREN'S
BALLET (ages 8-11): Previous
creative dance or ballet instruction recommended. An introduction to
ballet technique with creative activities woven into the class. |

| CONTEMPORARY DANCE CLASSES- The class includes a thorough technical warm-up, phrases designed for agility to each level of technique, and improvisation, musicality and qualities of movement are explored in depth. The interweaving of a variety of music including jazz, percussion, contemporary and classical encourages full and challenging movement and individual expression.

FLOOR/BARRE+:
For beginner and experienced students alike. Stretch and strengthen
exercises on the floor are applied to contemporary barre work plus a
short dance phrase to conclude the class. No dance experience necessary.

| JAZZ: Classes consist of a warm up, technique, across-the-floor movement series and combinations to provide the student a diverse variety of styles (and music) - from traditional jazz and stylizations of Fosse & others, to contemporary choreography incorporating Lyrical, Latin, Funk and more.

|
TAP- An emphasis on rhythm, musicality, proper tap technique and traditional tap styles includes Waltz clog and Soft Shoe.
