Policy & Attire - Children

OBSERVATION:
We ask that parents observe their children in dance classes on the last class of each session only.  Dance requires visual and auditory learning and we encourage the students to focus on the process in the classroom.  Your presence puts a different concentration on the activities, especially with young children.

Very young children may be escorted to the studio on the first day. Parents should leave the studio as soon as the child is sitting upon the mat. Pre-school children must be toilet-trained and ready to work in a group. Children must be picked up inside by an adult.

TUITION:
We will distribute billing notices about half-way through the current session for the following session’s tuition. Children's classes must be paid for by the session. Single class fee not applicable. The tuition will be due by the designated date.  Late payments will be charged a fee of $10.00. At the time of billing, please inform us of any changes in personal information.  Also, if for any reason your child will not be continuing with us, please let us know immediately so that we may accommodate our waiting list. Refunds are given only for serious health problems.   No refunds.

CHILDREN'S DRESS CODE:
Appropriate dancewear is very important and aids the teacher in giving dancers the best feedback on development. 

DANCE CREATIONS:
No skirts, bare feet, No shoes
GIRLS: Creations I and II please wear pink short-sleeved leotards and tights without feet.  Creations III wear black leotard and pink footless tights.  Please NO skirts. Hair should be worn off the face in a secure pony tail or braid. 
BOYS: Grey sweat pants and white t-shirt.

At the last class of each session, students may wear a costume or dancewear of their choice.

CONTEMPORARY DANCE STYLES;
GIRLS: black leotard, beige or black tights that are convertible to footless tights for barefoot dancing. Hair must be worn off the face in a braid, pony tail or bun.
BOYS: white t-shirt, black footless tights or dance pants.
